The Senior SCADA Supervisor leads and oversees the configuration, operation, maintenance, and optimization of SCADA systems across critical operations. This position is responsible for managing a team of engineers and technicians while ensuring system integrity, high availability, cybersecurity compliance, and data accuracy.
Ensure 24/7 system availability and reliability of SCADA infrastructure.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance across all process control nodes.
Conduct root cause analysis on recurring faults or alarms.
Manage and mentor SCADA engineers and technicians.
Assign tasks, review performance, and provide continuous technical guidance.
Foster cross-functional collaboration with IT, instrumentation, and operations teams.
Lead system upgrades, expansions, and migrations with minimal downtime.
Oversee HMI and PLC/RTU programming, graphics development, and control logic reviews.
Ensure configuration documentation is consistently maintained and version controlled.
Implement and enforce industrial cybersecurity best practices (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443).
Collaborate with IT to apply security patches, backup strategies, and network segmentation.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Manage real-time and historical data accuracy for operational analytics and reporting.
Ensure proper alarm configuration, change logs, and audit trails are in place.
Support integration with historians, ERP, or cloud platforms.
Lead SCADA-related projects, from scope definition to commissioning.
Liaise with SCADA vendors and contractors for system support, upgrades, and training.
Manage budgets, timelines, and quality control related to automation and SCADA work.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
8–12+ years of experience in SCADA engineering with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Proven experience with platforms like AVEVA (Wonderware), Siemens WinCC, GE iFIX, or Schneider Citect.
Advanced knowledge of SCADA architectures, PLC/RTU integration, HMI design, and alarm systems.
Proficiency with industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, DNP3, Profibus).
Familiarity with IT networks, industrial firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity practices.
ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or equivalent.
SCADA vendor certifications (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, AVEVA).
Industrial Cybersecurity certification (ISA/IEC 62443, CSSA, etc.).
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented and capable of managing complex systems under pressure.
Proactive and adaptable in dynamic project and operational environments.
