The Mid-Level SCADA Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and minor upgrades of SCADA systems. This role involves hands-on support, coordination of junior team members, and ensuring data accuracy, system reliability, and operational safety.
Monitor and support the smooth functioning of SCADA systems including HMIs, RTUs, and PLCs.
Respond to operational incidents and assist in troubleshooting and fault resolution.
Ensure data accuracy and system uptime across control and monitoring points.
Coordinate and guide junior technicians and SCADA support staff.
Delegate routine maintenance tasks and oversee progress and quality.
Serve as the bridge between operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Perform scheduled system backups, patches, and firmware updates.
Maintain SCADA servers, workstations, and network hardware in coordination with IT.
Support alarm system configuration and management for effective monitoring.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of system architecture, configurations, and change logs.
Support compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures.
Assist in ensuring cybersecurity best practices are implemented and followed.
Resolve control system communication issues, field signal errors, and HMI faults.
Participate in small-scale SCADA upgrades, integrations, and expansions.
Review and interpret technical drawings such as loop diagrams and network layouts.
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering.
4–8 years of experience in SCADA systems with a minimum of 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Experience in industrial control environments such as oil & gas, water treatment, utilities, or manufacturing.
Proficient in SCADA platforms such as Wonderware/AVEVA, Siemens WinCC, GE iFIX, or Schneider Citect.
Good understanding of PLC/RTU integration and communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, DNP3).
Familiar with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls) and IT collaboration.
Vendor-specific SCADA or HMI certifications.
Basic industrial cybersecurity awareness (ISA/IEC 62443 familiarity is a plus).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication with technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under moderate supervision.
