The Junior SCADA/Telemetry Supervisor supports the management and maintenance of SCADA and telemetry systems that monitor and control laboratory utilities such as HVAC, purified water systems, compressed air, and cleanroom environments. This entry-level supervisory role combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with coordination duties for system integrity and operational continuity in regulated lab environments.
Assist in supervising daily operations of SCADA systems that manage lab utilities and environmental systems.
Monitor real-time telemetry data for performance of critical lab infrastructure (e.g., temperature, pressure, flow, humidity sensors).
Perform first-line diagnostics, issue escalation, and basic repairs for field instrumentation and remote terminal units (RTUs).
Support data logging, alarm configurations, and routine software updates under guidance from senior engineers.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution of utility system issues identified via SCADA.
Maintain proper documentation related to system status, preventive maintenance, alarms, and event response.
Participate in validation, commissioning, and change control processes related to automation and telemetry infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with lab safety protocols and basic GMP documentation standards.
Real-Time Monitoring of Lab Utilities
Ensure uninterrupted SCADA coverage for lab-critical utilities like HVAC, RO/DI water, gas distribution, and environmental zones.
Telemetry & Alarm Management
Track telemetry points for deviation; assist in managing and configuring alarms for swift corrective action.
System Support & Maintenance
Support firmware updates, data historian backups, and system calibration tasks with senior supervision.
Regulatory Support
Maintain accurate logs and documentation to assist with compliance audits (GMP, CLIA, ISO).
Cross-Functional Coordination
Liaise with facility operations, QA, and IT teams to ensure synchronized system behavior and alert escalations.
Basic Supervisory Oversight
Support work allocation, checklist compliance, and mentorship of technicians or interns on SCADA systems.
