The Senior Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer is a subject matter expert responsible for leading reliability engineering strategies for critical rotating assets such as pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, and motors. This role ensures high equipment availability, reduces lifecycle costs, and drives predictive and proactive maintenance programs. The engineer mentors junior staff and collaborates across engineering, operations, and maintenance to implement best practices in asset management.
Develop and implement comprehensive reliability strategies for rotating equipment.
Lead Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
Define asset criticality, risk-based inspection (RBI) plans, and lifecycle optimization strategies.
Oversee condition monitoring programs using technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, ultrasound, and motor diagnostics.
Analyze trends and diagnose degradation mechanisms; provide recommendations for proactive maintenance.
Analyze asset performance data (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, availability) and identify improvement opportunities.
Support the optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) programs.
Provide technical guidance during the design, specification, and procurement of rotating equipment.
Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT), commissioning, and reliability validation of new equipment.
Mentor junior reliability engineers and technicians.
Collaborate with design, operations, and procurement teams to ensure reliability goals are integrated across the asset lifecycle.

Integration of Reliability with CMMS, APM, and IIoT Platforms
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
8+ years of experience in rotating equipment reliability or mechanical asset management
Advanced knowledge of rotating equipment failure modes, predictive tools, and diagnostics
Proficient in CMMS (SAP, Maximo), APM tools, and reliability software
Preferred certifications: CMRP, CRL, ISO Category II/III Vibration Analyst, Six Sigma, or RBI-certified
Strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Deep understanding of international standards (API 610, 617, ISO 10816, ANSI/HI)
Excellent analytical, communication, and technical report writing skills
Proactive, hands-on approach to solving complex equipment reliability challenges
