Job Title: Rigger

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Junior Rigger to join our team in the construction and operations field. As a Junior Rigger, you will be responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient lifting, moving, and securing of heavy loads and equipment on construction sites. You will work under the supervision of experienced riggers and supervisors to learn the techniques and best practices for rigging and lifting operations. This is an excellent opportunity to build your skills in the rigging industry and grow into a more advanced role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Rigging Setup and Assistance:

    • Assist in setting up rigging equipment such as slings, ropes, cables, hoists, and cranes for lifting operations.
    • Help secure loads and ensure they are safely fastened to the rigging equipment for transportation or placement.
    • Assist in the loading and unloading of materials or heavy equipment, ensuring that all lifting is performed safely and efficiently.
  2. Equipment Inspection and Handling:

    • Perform basic inspections of rigging equipment to ensure that materials such as slings, chains, and hoists are in good working condition.
    • Report any damaged or worn equipment to the supervisor for replacement or repair.
    • Learn the proper handling, storage, and maintenance of rigging tools and materials.
  3. Support in Lifting and Moving Materials:

    • Support crane operators, rigging teams, and other construction personnel in lifting and positioning heavy loads.
    • Assist in guiding and positioning heavy loads using hand signals or communication systems.
    • Ensure that lifting activities are carried out according to the instructions and that all safety measures are in place.
  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to rigging operations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized rigging area, ensuring that there are no safety hazards or obstacles.
    • Understand and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during lifting operations.
  5. Teamwork and Communication:

    • Collaborate effectively with senior riggers, crane operators, and other team members to coordinate lifting tasks and ensure smooth operations.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to understand job requirements and tasks.
    • Learn and implement industry best practices in rigging to ensure high standards of safety and quality.
  6. Training and Skill Development:

    • Participate in on-the-job training to develop knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
    • Learn to use rigging tools and lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Develop knowledge of load calculations, rigging angles, and proper rigging techniques to advance in the field.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Keep records of rigging operations, including the equipment used, the materials moved, and any issues encountered during the lifting process.
    • Report any unsafe practices or hazards to the supervisor immediately to ensure that corrective actions are taken.

Key Focus Areas:

Field Instrumentation: Assist in maintaining and calibrating field devices for accurate process control.

Troubleshooting: Learn basic fault diagnosis and support the resolution of issues in instrumentation systems.

Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and participate in training programs to ensure workplace safety.

Skill Development: Gain technical knowledge and experience in oil and gas field operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • A basic understanding of construction or mechanical systems is an advantage but not required.
  2. Experience:

    • 0-2 years of experience in rigging, construction, or related fields.
    • Prior exposure to construction environments or physical labor is beneficial but not necessary.
  3. Technical Skills:

    • Basic understanding of rigging principles, lifting equipment, and tools.
    • Ability to learn and follow safety procedures related to lifting and rigging operations.
    • Willingness to develop practical skills in the rigging field.
  4. Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
    • Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
    • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  5. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):

    • OSHA certification or any basic safety training for working in construction environments is advantageous.
    • Basic rigging or lifting training certification (if available).
