We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Relief Valve Technician with hands-on experience in Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs). The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, calibrating, and documenting safety relief valves in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in ensuring plant safety and regulatory compliance.
Maintenance, testing, and certification of Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs) to ASME/API standards (primarily API 527, API 576, and ASME Section I & VIII).
Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test various types of relief and pressure safety valves.
Perform valve testing using test benches and calibration tools (hydrostatic and pneumatic).
Record inspection and repair data accurately and generate service reports.
Ensure all PSV servicing activities comply with applicable codes and customer requirements.
Interpret valve specifications, service manuals, and diagrams.
Perform on-site PSV testing (in-situ testing) using portable test equipment, when required.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner.
Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about job status and findings.
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations.
High school diploma or GED; technical certifications preferred.
3–5 years of hands-on experience servicing PSVs and relief valves in a shop or field environment.
Familiarity with API 527, API 576, ASME Section I & VIII, and OEM valve standards.
Proficient in using valve test benches, torque tools, lapping machines, and related equipment.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
ASME/NBIC VR (Valve Repair) Certification (preferred but not required).
Safety training (H2S, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, etc.) is a plus.
May involve shift work, weekend availability, or overtime.
Work in valve shop environment and occasionally at customer sites.
Requires lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
May involve working in high-pressure systems or confined spaces.
