This role involves providing technical expertise and strategic oversight for PSV selection, sizing, compliance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management to ensure the safety and integrity of pressure protection systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies to optimize pressure relief solutions and maintain regulatory compliance.
Lead and oversee PSV sizing, specification, and design activities for new projects, expansions, and operational systems.
Develop and approve PSV datasheets, relief system design basis, and overpressure protection philosophies.
Provide expert guidance on selection of valve types, materials, set pressures, and capacities aligned with process safety requirements.
Ensure all PSV systems comply with applicable codes and standards (API 520/521/526, ASME Section VIII, OSHA PSM).
Manage compliance audits, safety reviews, and risk assessments related to pressure relief systems.
Update and maintain PSV registers, documentation, and certification records to meet internal and external audit requirements.
Oversee valve testing programs, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), field testing, calibration, and preventative maintenance schedules.
Analyze PSV failure modes, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and recommend corrective/preventive measures.
Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to optimize PSV availability and performance.
Provide technical support for PSV-related issues during commissioning, startup, and operational phases.
Lead troubleshooting activities for PSV malfunctions or capacity shortfalls and recommend remedial actions.
