The Reliability Manager is responsible for developing and executing reliability strategies for critical mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, HVAC systems, and air compressors. The role focuses on improving equipment performance, reducing unplanned downtime, and maximizing asset life through predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and reliability engineering best practices. The position plays a key role in bridging maintenance execution with long-term asset health optimization.
Lead reliability programs focused on rotating and static mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, HVAC units, fans, blowers, and compressors.
Analyze failure modes, downtime data, and equipment history to identify chronic reliability issues.
Define and track KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, and maintenance cost per asset.
Implement and optimize condition monitoring programs using tools like vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasound.
Schedule predictive maintenance tasks based on asset health indicators to prevent failures.
Integrate condition monitoring findings into CMMS and reliability improvement actions.
Conduct detailed RCFA for critical equipment breakdowns.
Facilitate cross-functional teams to identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
Maintain a database of failures, analysis reports, and actions taken.
Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to optimize maintenance strategies.
Develop asset criticality assessments and reliability improvement plans.
Work with design/engineering to influence equipment specifications and standards for new projects.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure asset lifecycle strategies are aligned with business goals.
Support capital planning with input on aging assets, refurbishment needs, and equipment upgrades.
Participate in spare parts optimization and reliability-based inventory control.
Train maintenance and operations personnel on reliability tools and best practices.
Report reliability performance, trends, and improvements to leadership.
Promote a culture of reliability and continuous improvement across the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10–15 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or reliability roles in a complex industrial or utility environment.
Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), CMRP, or equivalent is preferred.
Experience with condition monitoring tools and CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, etc.).
Strong expertise in rotating machinery and HVAC systems
Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Proficiency in reliability methodologies (RCM, FMEA, LCC)
Familiarity with ISO 55000 and maintenance best practices
Data analysis and reporting (Excel, Power BI, CMMS)
Leadership, training, and cross-functional collaboration
