The Senior Reliability Engineer – Mechanical Assets is responsible for leading the reliability engineering function for all mechanical systems and equipment. This includes developing and driving strategies to improve equipment performance, optimize asset lifecycle costs, reduce downtime, and enhance overall plant reliability through structured methodologies and advanced data analysis.
Lead the implementation of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs
Develop long-term asset performance strategies aligned with business goals
Create and manage reliability KPIs (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, asset utilization, and OEE)
Oversee RCA investigations and corrective/preventive actions for chronic or critical failures
Facilitate FMEA, Pareto analysis, and bad actor identification
Maintain a lessons-learned system and promote continuous improvement initiatives
Manage advanced condition monitoring systems (vibration, ultrasonic, infrared, oil analysis)
Integrate predictive maintenance insights into CMMS and reliability dashboards
Evaluate the need for new technologies/tools to improve equipment diagnostics
Optimize preventive maintenance plans and ensure alignment with asset criticality
Support maintenance teams with CMMS updates, job plan improvements, and spare parts strategies
Lead reliability audits and ensure compliance with global reliability standards
Mentor and guide junior reliability engineers and maintenance teams
Interface with production, engineering, and procurement teams on asset performance goals
Lead reliability reviews during capital projects and equipment commissioning
Mechanical rotating and static assets (pumps, turbines, compressors, gearboxes, valves)
Predictive maintenance, data-driven decision-making, and lifecycle analysis
Asset integrity, criticality assessment, and failure prevention strategy
Reliability analytics, performance modeling, and KPI management
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
7+ years of relevant experience in mechanical reliability or asset management roles
Proven leadership in RCA, RCM, and condition-based maintenance programs
Deep expertise in rotating/static equipment and system design principles
Strong analytical skills in reliability data (Power BI, Excel, Weibull analysis, etc.)
Proficiency in CMMS systems (SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM, etc.)
Skilled in RCA, FMEA, and risk-based maintenance techniques
Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
CMRP – Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional
CRE – Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ)
ISO 55000, TPM, Six Sigma, or Lean Maintenance background is a strong asset
Office and field-based work in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Requires occasional travel for audits, equipment assessments, or vendor inspections
Must be able to lead field investigations and participate in turnarounds/shutdowns when necessary
