The Junior QC Technician – Mechanical assists in inspecting raw materials, in-process parts, and finished mechanical components to ensure they meet specified standards and drawings. This role supports the quality team in maintaining product compliance and identifying non-conformities in early stages of manufacturing.
Assist in dimensional checks using tools like vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges
Conduct basic visual and surface finish inspections
Verify parts against mechanical drawings, material specs, and checklists
Support in-line inspections during machining, assembly, or fabrication
Record and report observations for deviation from tolerances
Tag and isolate non-conforming items as per procedure
Fill inspection reports, check sheets, and QC logs accurately
Support in updating traceability and identification markings
Maintain organized documentation for easy retrieval and audits
Coordinate with production operators and supervisors for inspection readiness
Escalate recurring issues or rework trends to the senior QC team
Assist in implementing corrective actions and quality alerts
Perform basic mechanical inspections on parts and assemblies
Ensure adherence to quality plans and work instructions
Support quality engineers in preparing documentation for internal/external audits
Learn and follow ISO 9001 or applicable QMS standards
Assist during customer or third-party inspections by preparing records and parts
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Production / Quality Technology
0–2 years of experience in mechanical quality inspection or related field (freshers with internship exposure can apply)
Familiar with basic measuring instruments and mechanical drawings
Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly)
Basic knowledge of tolerance, fits, and material specs
Good documentation and observation skills
Eagerness to learn quality systems and standards
Exposure to ISO 9001 or equivalent QMS environments
Basic understanding of GD&T, calibration, or incoming material inspection
Computer skills (MS Excel, basic ERP/QA modules)
Shop-floor and inspection room-based role
Requires physical inspection, bending, and lifting small components
PPE compliance and safe practices expected at all times
