We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior QC Technician to lead quality control inspections focused on welding integrity and dimensional accuracy for critical systems in a power plant. The role involves oversight of all QC activities related to structural, piping, and pressure part fabrication and erection, ensuring strict compliance with applicable codes, client specifications, and quality standards.
Conduct and supervise detailed visual welding inspections before, during, and after welding operations.
Verify compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Welder Qualification Records (WQR), and project-specific requirements.
Monitor welder performance and identify any deviations or recurring quality issues.
Review and approve welding documentation, including weld maps, logs, and traceability records.
Perform high-precision dimensional inspections using calibrated instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, laser levels, etc.).
Validate critical dimensions, tolerances, and alignments of structural assemblies, pipe spools, and equipment supports.
Ensure compliance with fabrication drawings and geometric tolerances.
Maintain and review quality records, inspection checklists, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and punch lists.
Support audits (internal, client, and third-party) and respond to findings with appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure traceability of welds, base materials, consumables, and associated NDT results.
Mentor and supervise junior and mid-level QC technicians.
Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, project managers, NDT teams, and construction supervisors to resolve quality issues.
Lead pre-weld meetings and participate in quality toolbox talks and kick-off sessions.
Ensure strict adherence to codes such as ASME Section IX, ASME B31.1/B31.3, AWS D1.1, and ISO quality standards.
Enforce safety protocols during inspection activities and participate in risk assessments.
Contribute to continual improvement of QA/QC processes.
Leading welding and dimensional inspection activities

Mentoring junior QC staff and upholding quality assurance culture
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or similar
Valid Certification: CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 / AWS CWI / ISO 9712 Level II (preferred)
Experience:
7–12+ years of experience in welding and dimensional quality control, preferably in a power plant or heavy industrial setting
Proven track record of working with complex welding procedures and tight fabrication tolerances
Skills:
Advanced understanding of weld inspection techniques and dimensional control
Proficiency in QA/QC documentation, traceability systems, and NCR resolution
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to handle QA/QC audits, third-party inspections, and client interfaces
