We are seeking a technically competent and detail-driven QA/QC Supervisor – Valve Installations to oversee quality assurance and control during the installation, testing, and commissioning of industrial valves. This role requires hands-on field inspection experience and a solid understanding of applicable standards, installation practices, and mechanical QA/QC procedures. The successful candidate will coordinate with construction, testing, and client QA teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications, codes, and project quality plans.
Supervise and verify valve installation works in the field, ensuring compliance with project drawings, specifications, and orientation requirements.
Confirm correct flange preparation, gasket selection, bolt torqueing, and valve support requirements.
Check alignment of valves with associated piping and actuators and ensure tagging, cleanliness, and preservation protocols are followed.
Supervise valve testing activities including hydrostatic, pneumatic, seat leakage, and functional testing as per API 598, API 6D, or client-specific standards.
Review and witness calibration and stroking of control valves, motor-operated valves (MOVs), and safety relief valves (SRVs).
Track test results, verify inspection points, and manage punch lists and corrective actions.
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test records, valve data sheets, and welding traceability where applicable.
Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers to compile test packages and turnover documentation.
Track material certificates, ITP checklists, and valve tagging systems in coordination with procurement or material control.
Act as a liaison between field teams, client inspectors, and internal QA/QC department during audits and inspections.
Ensure that contractors and technicians adhere to approved ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and method statements.
Participate in site quality meetings, NCR reviews, and QA walkthroughs.
Ensure compliance with company and project-specific safety and quality procedures during all QA/QC activities.
Support safety briefings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations related to valve installation works.
Identify and mitigate quality risks proactively during installation and testing.
Independent supervision of valve installation QA/QC tasks
Technical compliance with standards and ITPs
Field coordination, documentation, and test witnessing
Interface with clients, construction, and commissioning teams
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Control, or related technical discipline
Certifications (Preferred):
API 598 / API 6D / ASME B31.3 familiarity
ISO 9001 Auditor Training, CSWIP 3.1 (or equivalent QC certifications)
Experience:
4–6 years of QA/QC experience in mechanical installations, with at least 2–3 years specific to industrial valve installation or piping systems
Familiar with P&IDs, isometric drawings, valve datasheets, and mechanical inspection protocols
Skills:
Strong understanding of valve installation and pressure testing standards
Capable of managing inspection documentation and traceability records
Proficient in reading technical drawings and using inspection tools
Excellent organizational and communication skills
