The Junior QA/QC Supervisor – Turbine Maintenance is responsible for assisting in the inspection, quality monitoring, and documentation of turbine maintenance activities. This role ensures that maintenance work on gas or steam turbines and associated equipment complies with quality standards, technical specifications, and safety requirements. The role works closely with the maintenance and engineering teams to ensure quality practices are maintained across turbine maintenance projects.
Conduct quality checks during turbine dismantling, inspection, repair, and reassembly activities.
Verify compliance with approved quality plans, work procedures, and OEM specifications.
Prepare inspection test reports (ITRs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality documentation.
Assist in reviewing and maintaining quality documentation (WPS, ITP, checklists).
Monitor calibration status of inspection and measuring tools used during turbine work.
Coordinate with site maintenance teams to ensure quality control requirements are integrated into maintenance processes.
Support welding inspection, dimensional checks, and material traceability for turbine components.
Participate in pre-maintenance QA briefings and post-maintenance quality review meetings.
Escalate quality deviations and suggest corrective/preventive actions.
Ensure quality assurance during critical activities such as rotor placement, casing bolt torquing, and coupling alignment.
Visual inspection of turbine components during maintenance.
Dimensional and run-out checks of shafts, rotors, bearings, and couplings.
Support NDT technicians during ultrasonic, dye penetrant, and MPI testing activities.
Maintain ITP (Inspection & Test Plan) compliance throughout turbine maintenance tasks.
Ensure completion of QA checklists and prepare inspection reports for each maintenance stage.
File and archive quality records, including third-party and OEM inspection documents.
Ensure turbine maintenance activities adhere to company quality standards, OEM guidelines, and international codes (ASME, ISO, API).
Support audits, reviews, and internal assessments of turbine maintenance processes.
Coordinate with the mechanical team, OEM reps, and third-party inspectors.
Assist in quality briefings, toolbox talks, and work permit checks from a QA/QC perspective.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: 2–5 years in QA/QC for mechanical systems; exposure to turbine or rotating equipment is preferred.
Industry Background: Power plants, oil & gas, EPC projects, rotating equipment service providers.
Basic knowledge of turbine components and maintenance processes.
Familiarity with QA/QC tools and standards (ISO 9001, ASME, API).
Ability to read technical drawings, ITPs, and OEM manuals.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
On-site role at industrial facilities (e.g., turbine halls, mechanical workshops).
Involves field inspections, physical checks, and supervision during live maintenance tasks.
May include shift work, weekend availability, and work during outages/shutdowns.
PPE compliance is mandatory.
