The QA/QC Manager – Turbomachinery Projects is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality systems throughout the lifecycle of turbomachinery projects—covering installation, overhaul, commissioning, or fabrication of rotating equipment. The role ensures all engineering and field activities meet OEM specs, industry codes, project standards, and customer quality requirements.
Develop project-specific Quality Plans, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and QC procedures for turbine-related activities.
Define inspection checkpoints across equipment delivery, installation, assembly, alignment, and commissioning.
Supervise mechanical inspections of gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and rotating auxiliaries.
Ensure dimensional checks, torque verifications, material traceability, NDE (e.g., PT, UT, RT), and welding quality as per ASME/API standards.
Review and approve QA/QC deliverables: WPS/PQRs, test certificates, calibration reports, and OEM compliance documents.
Maintain proper documentation for FAT/SAT, as-built records, NCR logs, and quality dossiers.
Monitor quality practices during installation, rotor alignment, balancing, piping hook-ups, and shaft run-out checks.
Identify quality deviations, initiate NCRs (non-conformance reports), and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Conduct quality audits and surveillance at vendor facilities for turbine skids, rotors, bearings, and casing assemblies.
Ensure third-party inspection compliance and performance of subcontractors.
Liaise with client quality representatives and third-party inspectors to ensure QA/QC alignment with project goals.
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 17020, and project-specific regulatory compliance.
Lead QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and coordinators across project sites.
Conduct quality toolbox talks, awareness sessions, and continuous improvement workshops.
