We are seeking a motivated Junior Pump & Valve Mechanic to assist with the maintenance, repair, and installation of pumps and valves in a water treatment facility. This entry-level position involves working under supervision to ensure reliable operation of mechanical systems critical to water treatment processes.
Pump & Valve Maintenance Support
Assist in the inspection, maintenance, lubrication, and repair of pumps and valves including centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, gate valves, butterfly valves, and control valves.
Support troubleshooting efforts to identify mechanical issues and perform minor repairs under supervision.
Help with disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of pumps and valve components.
Installation & Testing
Assist in installing new pumps and valves during maintenance outages or plant upgrades.
Participate in operational testing to verify proper function and detect leaks or malfunctions.
Document maintenance activities and assist with updating equipment logs.
Safety & Compliance
Follow plant safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or operational concerns promptly to supervisors.
Learning & Development
Learn pump and valve types, operation principles, and maintenance techniques.
Attend training sessions and participate in on-the-job learning with experienced mechanics.
Assist senior mechanics as needed and actively seek to improve technical skills.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred
Experience:
0–2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or industrial environment (internships/apprenticeships advantageous)
Basic familiarity with pumps, valves, and mechanical tools is beneficial
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols carefully
Physical capability to perform manual labor and work in confined spaces
