The Mid-Level Pump and Piping Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fluid transport systems. This includes centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, pipelines, valves, and accessories. The engineer will be involved in project execution, field inspections, hydraulic calculations, and system improvements, ensuring safe and reliable operation across the asset lifecycle.
Contribute to the layout and design of pump stations and piping networks using P&IDs, isometric drawings, and 3D models.
Conduct hydraulic calculations (flow, pressure loss, NPSHa/NPSHr) and pipe sizing.
Assist in evaluating piping flexibility, support types, and loads.
Prepare and review technical specifications for pumps, valves, piping materials, and fittings.
Coordinate with vendors to evaluate equipment proposals, data sheets, and compliance with standards.
Support procurement and technical bid evaluations.
Participate in pump and piping system installation, testing, and commissioning.
Conduct inspections for alignment, vibration, and system readiness before startup.
Support troubleshooting and diagnostics during abnormal operating conditions (e.g., cavitation, vibration, leaks).
Analyze recurring issues in pump and piping systems; assist in root cause analysis (RCA).
Recommend preventive maintenance actions and assist in implementing improvements.
Support upgrades or modifications based on system performance and lifecycle cost.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards: API 610, ASME B31.3, ANSI, and ISO.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, test records, and engineering logs.
Contribute to safety and risk assessments related to piping and pump systems.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
4–8 years of experience in pump and piping engineering, ideally in utilities or industrial environments
Hands-on experience with fluid systems, pumps, and mechanical installations
Familiarity with piping software tools (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Pipe-Flo, AFT Fathom, or CAESAR II)
Good understanding of fluid mechanics and mechanical system behavior
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
High attention to safety, standards, and operational reliability
