The Junior Pump and Piping Systems Engineer supports the design, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems involving pumps, piping networks, valves, and related components. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the role assists in system layout, equipment selection, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation of fluid handling systems in industrial and utility facilities.
Assist in creating layout drawings, P&IDs, and isometric diagrams for pump and piping systems.
Support in hydraulic calculations including pressure drop, flow rate, and NPSH requirements.
Participate in equipment sizing and material selection under supervision.
Assist in preparing technical specifications for pumps, valves, fittings, and piping.
Work with vendors and procurement teams to gather and review technical submittals and datasheets.
Support review of vendor drawings and BOMs.
Support field teams during installation, alignment, and commissioning of pumps and piping systems.
Participate in inspection and testing activities (e.g., hydrotesting, alignment checks, vibration measurements).
Assist maintenance teams in diagnosing pump and piping system issues such as leakage, cavitation, vibration, or misalignment.
Help document and track maintenance activities and performance data.
Develop familiarity with industry standards such as ASME B31.3, API 610, ANSI, and ISO.
Ensure engineering activities meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain engineering logs, technical records, and system documentation.
Draft basic reports, technical notes, and maintenance logs for internal use.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
0–3 years of experience or internship in pump systems, piping, or industrial mechanical engineering.
Exposure to fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and rotating equipment.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or piping design software is an advantage.
Strong interest in mechanical systems and rotating equipment
Basic understanding of fluid systems and hydraulic behavior
Good documentation and communication skills
Willingness to work in field and plant environments
Ability to learn and apply engineering codes and standards
