We are looking for a reliable and technically skilled Mid-Level Pump Mechanic / Technician to perform installation, inspection, servicing, and repairs of a wide range of industrial pumps and associated systems. This role requires hands-on experience with rotating equipment and an understanding of preventive maintenance practices to ensure smooth and reliable plant operations.
Install, align, and commission various types of pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, diaphragm, submersible, etc.) in accordance with OEM standards.
Dismantle and inspect pumps for wear or damage; replace seals, bearings, shafts, gaskets, and impellers as needed.
Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, tightening, cleaning, and vibration checks.
Conduct pump performance checks and assist in diagnosing flow, pressure, and mechanical problems.
Support root cause analysis of pump failures and provide input on corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and replacements in the CMMS system.
Assist in selecting replacement parts and coordinating with stores and vendors for procurement.
Follow all plant safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and chemical handling.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and senior technicians to support plant uptime and reliability goals.
Routine Pump Maintenance & Overhauls
Perform scheduled inspections, servicing, and overhauls of pumps to prevent unplanned failures.
Installation & Alignment
Carry out pump and motor installations including base preparation, shaft alignment, and coupling assembly.
Troubleshooting & Repair
Identify and address common pump issues such as leaks, noise, vibration, overheating, and performance drops.
Component Replacement & Rebuilds
Replace worn components and assist in complete pump rebuilds with precise measurements and tolerances.
Documentation & CMMS Compliance
Record all activities accurately and support reliability initiatives through detailed maintenance logs and reports.
Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Fitting, or Pump Technology.
3–5 years of hands-on experience working with industrial pumps and rotating equipment.
Proficiency in mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, etc.).
Familiarity with pump curves, flow and pressure parameters, and mechanical seal principles.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and work instructions.
Working knowledge of CMMS software and maintenance documentation practices.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Trade certification in mechanical maintenance or industrial fitting
Alignment training (e.g., laser or dial methods)
Safety training (e.g., OSHA, confined space, rigging)
Basic knowledge of vibration analysis or pump diagnostics
Industrial plant, workshop, or field setting involving exposure to rotating machinery, lubricants, noise, and temperature variations.
Requires physical effort such as lifting, standing, working in confined or elevated areas.
May involve shift rotation, overtime, and emergency repair work.
