We are looking for a Junior Pump Mechanic / Technician to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps and associated systems across plant operations. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with foundational mechanical skills who are eager to learn about pump systems and grow within the maintenance team.
Assist in the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of pumps including centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and submersible types.
Support senior technicians in the installation and alignment of pump sets and motor assemblies.
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as lubrication, bolt tightening, gasket replacement, and cleaning of pump components.
Clean and prepare work areas, tools, and equipment for maintenance jobs.
Help with the alignment and coupling of pump shafts under supervision.
Learn to read and understand pump datasheets, maintenance manuals, and piping layouts.
Assist with recording maintenance activities and updating logs as per company procedures.
Follow all workplace safety procedures including use of PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and safe handling of tools and chemicals.
Pump Maintenance Support
Assist in basic pump maintenance procedures under the guidance of senior mechanics or technicians.
Learning & Development
Develop technical knowledge about different types of pumps, their components, and operating principles.
Tool & Equipment Handling
Safely handle and maintain tools, lifting devices, and pump parts in the maintenance workshop and field.
Installation Support
Support pump installations by helping with alignment, mounting, and connection tasks.
Safety Awareness
Follow safety protocols and proactively participate in toolbox talks and hazard identification activities.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Fitting, or Pump Technology preferred.
0–2 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance or pump-related role (internships/apprenticeships acceptable).
Basic knowledge of mechanical tools, fasteners, gaskets, seals, and coupling components.
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced personnel.
Physically fit and capable of lifting, standing, and working in industrial conditions.
Good communication and team-working skills.
Exposure to industrial pump systems during vocational training.
Familiarity with common hand and power tools.
Basic understanding of fluid flow, pump curves, or rotating equipment is an asset.
Industrial plant or field environment with exposure to noise, lubricants, rotating equipment, and varying temperatures.
Requires physical work such as lifting, crouching, climbing, and working in confined spaces or elevated platforms.
May involve shift work, weekend support, and emergency call-outs.
