The Junior Valve Assembly Technician is responsible for assisting in the mechanical assembly of valves and related components according to work instructions and quality standards. This entry-level role involves hands-on tasks such as part preparation, sub-assembly, torqueing, and visual inspection under supervision. The technician ensures adherence to safety, cleanliness, and product conformance while supporting continuous production flow.
Assist in assembling various types of valves (e.g., solenoid, check, pressure relief, control) as per work instructions.
Prepare components for assembly, including cleaning, deburring, and organizing parts.
Follow torque specifications, sealing instructions, and safety procedures during assembly.
Use basic hand tools, pneumatic tools, and assembly fixtures to build sub-assemblies and final units.
Perform visual checks and basic dimensional inspections to ensure correct fit and part orientation.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area and follow 5S practices.
Escalate any non-conforming parts or assembly issues to the supervisor or quality team.
Accurately record production data and work order completion.
Component Preparation & Handling:
Ensure parts are clean, defect-free, and ready for assembly.
Organize components by build sequence and maintain traceability.
Mechanical Assembly Execution:
Follow work instructions and process sheets for valve assembly steps.
Apply torque and sealants correctly based on specified procedures.
Basic Inspection & Quality Checks:
Conduct visual inspections and check for missing parts, alignment, or obvious damage.
Report deviations from standard assembly processes.
Tool Usage & Safety:
Operate manual and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently.
Adhere to PPE and workstation safety protocols.
Documentation & Workflow Support:
Fill out job cards or checklists to document assembly completion.
Support production targets through accurate, timely work.
ITI or Diploma in Mechanical / Fitting / Production / Mechatronics.
0–2 years of experience in mechanical or valve assembly (internship or vocational exposure preferred).
Basic understanding of mechanical components, tools, and fasteners.
Ability to read simple mechanical drawings or work instructions.
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and a safety-first mindset.
