The Project Controls Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing project control systems and procedures to support the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of projects. This includes oversight of cost control, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and performance reporting. The role ensures that project teams have accurate and timely information to support decision-making and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Develop and maintain project control systems covering cost estimation, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
Monitor project performance against baselines and identify variances.
Lead the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
Establish progress measurement systems and support earned value analysis (EVA).
Manage project risk registers and coordinate risk mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with project managers, planners, finance teams, and contractors to ensure control standards are met.
Analyze project data and prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Support contract management by reviewing cost impact of variations and change orders.
Implement tools and software to streamline project controls and improve visibility.
Lead a team of planners, cost controllers, and document controllers as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in project controls or planning, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of project control methodologies, cost engineering, and scheduling.
Proficiency in tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost control systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ares Prism).
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), CPM scheduling, and contract administration.
Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP, AACE CCP) is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and team coordination abilities.
Experience in large-scale EPC or infrastructure projects is a plus.
