The Product Manager – Valve Systems is responsible for the strategic development, lifecycle management, and market performance of industrial and commercial valve products. This role serves as the central hub between engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing, ensuring valve solutions meet customer needs, regulatory standards, and profitability targets. The product manager leads market analysis, product roadmapping, pricing strategy, and cross-functional coordination to drive innovation, product quality, and business growth across diverse sectors such as HVAC, water treatment, oil & gas, and industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmapping
Define and execute product strategies for valve systems including control valves, pressure relief valves, solenoid valves, and custom assemblies.
Develop multi-year product roadmaps aligned with market trends, customer feedback, and corporate goals.
Identify new product opportunities through voice-of-customer (VoC) research, competitive benchmarking, and industry analysis.
Product Lifecycle Management
Lead the full product lifecycle from concept, development, and launch to obsolescence and replacement.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing on product specifications, testing, and compliance.
Maintain product documentation including technical datasheets, certification files, and marketing collateral.
Market & Customer Engagement
Analyze market dynamics, application requirements, and customer segments to guide product positioning and value propositions.
Support sales teams with technical training, competitive differentiation, and bid strategy.
Engage directly with customers, OEMs, and channel partners to gather feedback and validate requirements.
Financial & Commercial Performance
Own product line P&L, including pricing, margin targets, and profitability optimization.
Develop pricing strategies that reflect product value, cost structures, and market competition.
Partner with supply chain and operations to manage inventory, lead times, and production capacity.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate with engineering, QA, compliance, and operations to ensure on-time and in-spec product launches.
Support marketing in the development of go-to-market campaigns, trade show content, and product promotions.
Drive product improvement initiatives through VOC insights, warranty analysis, and field performance data.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field required
MBA or equivalent business qualification preferred
Certifications:
PMP, Certified Product Manager (CPM), or Six Sigma certification is a plus
Familiarity with valve-related standards: ASME B16, API 6D, AWWA C500, ISO 5208, etc.
Experience:
6–10+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or technical marketing within the valve or fluid control industry
Proven success launching and managing engineered products in a manufacturing environment
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of valve types, flow characteristics, materials, actuation, and control systems
Proficiency in CAD/PLM systems, ERP tools, and product configuration software
Ability to read technical drawings, flow curves, and pressure ratings
