Job Summary:

We are seeking a competent Pressure Vessel Design Engineer (Mid-Level) with solid experience in the mechanical design and engineering of pressure vessels for power plant applications. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and documentation of pressure-retaining components in compliance with ASME Section VIII, API, and client-specific standards. The candidate will be involved in full-cycle vessel engineering, from concept to fabrication support, and will collaborate closely with fabrication, QA/QC, and procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Pressure Vessel Design & Analysis

  • Perform design calculations for shells, heads, nozzles, and supports using ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2.

  • Use specialized software such as PV Elite, Compress, and NozzlePRO for mechanical analysis.

  • Analyze loads, internal/external pressures, wind/seismic loads, and support reactions.

  • Select appropriate materials based on service conditions and mechanical properties.

Drawings & Documentation

  • Prepare and review fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings, and detailed component drawings.

  • Generate data sheets, bill of materials (BOM), and design reports.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.

Coordination & Review

  • Interface with procurement and QA/QC for material specification, traceability, and inspection requirements.

  • Provide technical support to fabrication teams, resolve design-related RFIs, and participate in design reviews.

  • Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and certification bodies when required.

Compliance & Technical Support

  • Ensure compliance with ASME BPVC, TEMA, API 660/650 (as applicable), and internal QA requirements.

  • Participate in the preparation and review of design dossiers and ASME U-stamp documentation.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Pressure vessel code-compliant mechanical design

  • Detailed calculation and software modeling (PV Elite, Compress)

  • Fabrication drawing and BOM generation

  • Cross-functional coordination with QA, procurement, and fabrication

  • Compliance assurance and technical support

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred for advanced analytical roles)

Experience:

  • 3–7 years of experience in pressure vessel design for power, oil & gas, or heavy industries

Skills:

  • Proficient in ASME Section VIII (Div. 1 and 2), TEMA, API standards

  • Skilled in PV Elite, Compress, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor

  • Strong understanding of stress analysis, pressure design, and welding principles

  • Familiarity with ASME material specifications and joint efficiency factors
