We are seeking an experienced and technically advanced Senior Supervisor – Pneumatic Valve Control Systems to lead the operation, maintenance, reliability, and performance optimization of pneumatic valve systems across critical plant operations. This role ensures the consistent functionality of pneumatic actuators, valve control networks, and supporting air supply systems, all within stringent safety, regulatory, and performance requirements.
As a senior supervisor, you will lead cross-functional teams, manage improvement projects, and act as a subject matter expert (SME) on pneumatic valve technologies and automated control systems in high-stakes industrial environments.
Strategic Oversight of Pneumatic Valve Systems and Infrastructure
Advanced Diagnostics, Reliability, and Optimization
Compliance, Risk Management, and Safety Leadership
Project Management and System Upgrades
Team Leadership, Training, and Technical Mentorship
Oversee all aspects of the pneumatic valve control system infrastructure, including field instrumentation, actuators, positioners, solenoids, I/P converters, and air supply lines.
Develop and execute maintenance strategies aligned with system criticality, downtime risks, and production needs.
Ensure seamless integration between pneumatic systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms.
Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for chronic or high-impact valve issues.
Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), valve performance monitoring, and data-driven optimization.
Oversee tuning of control loops, actuator response curves, and fail-safe strategies to maximize process performance.
Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO, NFPA, ASME).
Lead risk assessments (HAZOPs, LOPA) involving pneumatic valve systems.
Drive implementation of preventive safety mechanisms such as pressure relief, ESD valve performance, and air supply redundancy.
Manage capital or retrofit projects involving pneumatic valve replacements, actuator upgrades, or control panel enhancements.
Evaluate and select valve suppliers, OEMs, and service contractors.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations for project scoping, budgeting, and commissioning.
Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, junior engineers, and external contractors.
Establish and enforce best practices for calibration, loop checks, documentation, and valve diagnostics.
Design and lead internal training programs to enhance workforce technical capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
8–12 years of experience in pneumatic valve systems, automation, or control systems in process industries.
In-depth knowledge of valve types (control, on/off, fail-close/open, modulating), pneumatic schematics, and actuator configurations.
Familiarity with DCS/PLC systems, smart valve diagnostics, and fieldbus communication protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus).
