The Junior Pneumatic Control Valve Technician is responsible for supporting the inspection, cleaning, basic servicing, and troubleshooting of pneumatic control valves and associated actuators used in automated process systems. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in valve maintenance and supports continuous and safe plant operations across sectors such as food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, and manufacturing.
Working under supervision, the technician helps maintain operational readiness and reliability of pneumatic valve systems in accordance with site standards and safety protocols.

Clean and inspect pneumatic control valves, actuators, and positioners.
Check for air leaks, loose connections, and damaged components.
Replace worn seals, gaskets, and minor hardware under supervision.
Assist in performing basic function tests of valve stroke, response, and air supply.
Support technicians during valve calibration and tuning procedures.
Record test results and report irregularities to senior staff.
Help assemble pneumatic valves and actuators according to specifications.
Assist with aligning and mounting valves to piping or process equipment.
Support tubing connections, signal line routing, and labeling tasks.
Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and proper PPE usage.
Complete maintenance checklists and basic valve service logs.
Report unsafe conditions, leaks, or near misses to the supervisor promptly.
Participate in training programs focused on pneumatic systems, control valves, and instrumentation basics.
Learn to read valve datasheets, air line schematics, and simple loop diagrams.
Develop familiarity with common valve brands (e.g., Fisher, Burkert, Spirax Sarco, ASCO).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical training or certification in mechanical, pneumatic, or instrumentation fields preferred.
0–2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or pneumatics (internships or apprenticeships acceptable).
Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on aptitude.
Familiarity with pneumatic tools and compressed air safety.
Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
