To lead mechanical maintenance operations in the plant by overseeing a team of technicians and supervisors. The role ensures uninterrupted plant operations through timely and efficient maintenance of mechanical systems, focuses on reliability improvement, safety compliance, and cost-effective maintenance practices.
Supervision of Mechanical Maintenance
Oversee the mechanical maintenance of plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, and utility systems.
Monitor work execution for quality, safety, and timeliness.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Plan and implement preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) schedules.
Analyze equipment health using condition monitoring techniques and take preemptive measures.
Breakdown Management & Troubleshooting
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Analyze failure patterns and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Training
Supervise, guide, and evaluate the performance of junior supervisors, technicians, and contract workers.
Conduct technical and safety training sessions to upskill the team.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Conduct root cause analysis for critical equipment failures and repeated issues.
Drive the implementation of permanent corrective solutions.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and procedures during all maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards.
Inventory & Spare Parts Management
Manage and monitor spare parts inventory and raise requisitions for critical components.
Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely availability of materials.
Maintenance Documentation
Maintain maintenance logs, job reports, and equipment history using CMMS/ERP systems.
Report key performance metrics such as MTTR, MTBF, and equipment uptime.
Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with production, quality, and electrical/instrumentation teams for maintenance planning.
Participate in shutdown planning and new equipment installation.

Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
8–12 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or process plant
Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or senior role
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Good knowledge of rotary and static equipment
Familiarity with maintenance software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, or other CMMS)
Effective leadership and team management
Knowledge of HSE standards and audit practices
Strong coordination, communication, and reporting abilities
