The Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance activities at the facility to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. This role manages a team of maintenance technicians and supports plant operations by overseeing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair strategies, and capital asset care. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, a commitment to continuous improvement, and experience in GMP-regulated environments such as food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Oversee daily maintenance operations to minimize unplanned downtime and ensure asset reliability.
Manage corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs for all production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
Supervise troubleshooting, repairs, and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Lead, train, and develop a team of skilled maintenance technicians and mechanics.
Schedule and allocate resources for shift coverage, emergency response, and project support.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork across the maintenance department.
Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders, track performance, and maintain asset records.
Ensure spare parts inventory, procurement planning, and vendor coordination support uptime targets.
Analyze equipment performance data and lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies (RCM, TPM, PdM) to extend equipment life and reduce failure rates.
Partner with production, engineering, and quality to plan equipment upgrades, replacements, and capacity improvements.
Support plant capital projects and commissioning of new equipment from a maintenance readiness perspective.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, FDA, USDA, GMP, and food safety standards.
Lead plant safety initiatives including LOTO, machine guarding, contractor oversight, and safe work practices.
Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Education:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field preferred
Trade certification or military technical training may be considered
Certifications:
CMRP, TPM, Six Sigma, or equivalent reliability/maintenance credentials are a plus
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training preferred
Experience:
7+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
Prior experience in food & beverage, dairy, pharma, or CPG facilities strongly preferred
Proven track record managing preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems, automation, and utilities
Proficiency in CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM, MP2, Fiix, eMaint)
Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and sanitary equipment standards
