The Senior Pipefitting Supervisor – Sanitary Piping provides expert leadership and comprehensive oversight of all pipefitting operations related to sanitary stainless steel piping systems within food and beverage manufacturing facilities. This senior role ensures strict adherence to 3-A Sanitary Standards, FDA/USDA regulations, and company safety policies. The supervisor drives process improvements, manages large multi-shift teams, and collaborates cross-functionally to support strategic business objectives and regulatory compliance.
Lead, plan, and manage all sanitary pipefitting operations including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of stainless steel piping systems.
Develop and enforce piping standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with 3-A Sanitary Standards and regulatory requirements.
Supervise and mentor pipefitting supervisors, pipefitters, and apprentices across multiple shifts, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Oversee quality assurance activities including inspections, testing, and documentation to maintain piping integrity and compliance.
Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, and production teams on design reviews, project planning, and operational enhancements.
Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives and operational efficiencies within the pipefitting department.
Manage resource planning including labor scheduling, equipment maintenance, and material procurement.
Ensure rigorous compliance with all safety standards, conducting audits, training, and incident investigations.
Prepare and deliver detailed reports on pipefitting performance, safety metrics, and project status to senior management.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma, associate, or bachelor’s degree in pipefitting, mechanical trades, or related field preferred
8+ years of pipefitting experience with a focus on sanitary stainless steel piping systems
Minimum 4 years in a supervisory or senior leadership role within food-grade or sanitary piping environments
Advanced knowledge of sanitary piping standards (3-A, FDA, USDA), fabrication techniques, and food safety compliance
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
Expertise in quality assurance, safety management, and continuous improvement methodologies
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi-shift operations effectively
