We are looking for an experienced Mid-Level Pipefitter – Sanitary Tubing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the fabrication, installation, and testing of high-purity sanitary piping systems, commonly used in food processing, dairy, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. This position requires a solid understanding of hygienic standards, ability to work independently, and the capability to mentor junior team members when needed.
Install, fabricate, and modify sanitary piping systems using stainless steel tubing, fittings, and specialized tools.
Interpret and work from blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and technical schematics.
Perform or support orbital welding and manual TIG welding processes on stainless steel tubing (typically 304/316L).
Ensure all installations conform to ASME BPE, 3A, and other industry-specific sanitary standards.
Conduct pressure testing, leak checks, and visual inspections to ensure system integrity.
Collaborate with engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and project managers to ensure compliance and timely delivery.
Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, material usage, and changes in design or layout.
Train and mentor junior pipefitters or apprentices in sanitary installation best practices.
Comply with all workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and cleanroom or GMP protocols when applicable.
Troubleshoot issues in existing piping systems and suggest corrective actions.
Sanitary Tubing Installation: Skilled in high-purity tube fitting, bending, clamping, and welding for hygienic process lines.
Welding & Fabrication: Proficiency in TIG/orbital welding and stainless steel fabrication in line with hygienic standards.
Regulatory Compliance: Working knowledge of FDA, USDA, 3A Sanitary Standards, and GMP protocols.
Clean Design Practices: Implementation of clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) considerations in layouts.
Documentation & QA Support: Support validation, testing, and traceability documentation for quality assurance.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams and provide leadership to junior staff as required.
Technical diploma or certification in pipefitting, mechanical systems, or welding required.
3–5 years of experience in sanitary piping installation or high-purity mechanical systems.
Proficient in reading technical drawings and understanding system schematics.
Hands-on experience with sanitary fittings, orbital welding, and high-purity stainless steel materials.
Strong understanding of hygienic and cleanroom installation protocols.
OSHA certification, ASME BPE familiarity, or similar credentials preferred.
Ability to work independently or in a team with minimal supervision.
Good communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
