Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Pipefitter – Sanitary Tubing to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sanitary piping systems. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of senior technicians to ensure that all tubing and piping meet hygienic standards required in industries such as food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology. This is an entry-level role suited for individuals with basic mechanical aptitude and a strong willingness to learn.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of sanitary piping and tubing systems, including stainless steel pipes and fittings.

  • Support the cutting, bending, and welding of pipes using orbital welding tools and techniques.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, isometric diagrams, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).

  • Ensure compliance with hygienic design standards (e.g., 3A, ASME BPE, or equivalent).

  • Perform routine maintenance and leak detection on sanitary pipe systems.

  • Help prepare materials and tools for daily operations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Document work performed and maintain logs as per company and project requirements.

  • Learn and apply cleanroom protocols and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards when required.

  • Work collaboratively with welders, senior pipefitters, engineers, and quality control teams.

  • Report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors in a timely manner.


Focus Areas:

  • Sanitary Tubing & Hygienic Standards: Emphasis on clean and safe piping practices to avoid contamination in sensitive environments.

  • Stainless Steel Fabrication: Use of stainless steel (typically 304 or 316L) for piping systems to meet sanitary requirements.

  • Orbital Welding: Gaining proficiency in orbital welding techniques for high-purity piping.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of industry-specific hygiene regulations (FDA, USDA, GMP).

  • Technical Interpretation: Developing skills in reading and applying complex technical drawings and schematics.

  • Teamwork & Communication: Supporting senior staff and collaborating across departments for smooth project execution.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in pipefitting, welding, or mechanical systems preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, pipefitting tools, and measurement instruments.

  • Previous experience or internship in sanitary tubing, plumbing, or pipefitting is a plus.

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.

  • Willingness to travel or work flexible hours based on project demands.

  • Commitment to learning and adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
