Job Title: Senior Payroll Officer / Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer / Administrator to lead the payroll function and ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient processing of employee compensation. This role will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations, auditing payroll records, managing statutory compliance, and supporting continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in payroll systems, labor regulations, and end-to-end payroll processing across diverse workforce structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute full-cycle payroll processing, including salary calculations, allowances, deductions, and final settlements.

  • Supervise payroll data validation from HR, attendance, and timekeeping systems.

  • Ensure adherence to labor law regulations, including WPS, end-of-service benefits, gratuity, and statutory reporting.

  • Perform detailed audits and reconciliations of payroll transactions and coordinate closely with Finance.

  • Resolve complex employee payroll queries, discrepancies, and escalated issues with accuracy and professionalism.

  • Prepare periodic payroll reports, forecasts, and executive dashboards for management review.

  • Drive payroll system improvements, automation initiatives, and policy enhancements.

  • Liaise with auditors, banks, government agencies, and external stakeholders for payroll-related matters.

  • Train and mentor junior payroll staff and ensure knowledge transfer of best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline

  • 5–7+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including senior-level responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of UAE Labor Law, WPS regulations, and payroll compliance standards

  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Zoho Payroll) and MS Excel

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • High degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism

  • Experience in leading audits and cross-departmental payroll projects is a strong advantage
