The Packaging Machinery Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of packaging equipment including fillers, labelers, and sealers in a food and beverage manufacturing environment. This role leads troubleshooting efforts, supports equipment upgrades, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance packaging line efficiency and product quality. The specialist applies technical expertise to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging machinery including fillers, labelers, and sealers to ensure consistent and efficient production.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for recurring equipment issues.
Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new packaging equipment or upgrades.
Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to optimize packaging line performance and product quality.
Maintain and update equipment documentation, maintenance logs, and compliance records.
Train and mentor junior technicians and operators on equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Ensure packaging equipment complies with food safety regulations and hygienic standards.
Education:
Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with packaging machinery such as fillers, labelers, and sealers in food & beverage or similar manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on packaging equipment.
Knowledge of automation controls, PLCs, and HMI systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment reliability programs.
Familiarity with food safety standards and GMP in packaging operations.
