The Junior Packaging Machinery Specialist supports the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of packaging equipment such as fillers, labelers, and sealers in a food and beverage manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on assistance to ensure packaging lines run efficiently, safely, and meet quality standards. The specialist works under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers to develop technical skills and gain practical experience with food-grade packaging machinery.
Assist in the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of packaging machinery including fillers, labelers, and sealers.
Support troubleshooting and repair efforts to minimize downtime and maintain packaging line performance.
Monitor packaging equipment for proper functioning, quality output, and compliance with food safety standards.
Help perform cleaning and sanitation of packaging machinery in accordance with hygiene protocols.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and production issues.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to support packaging line improvements.
Learn and apply basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical expertise.
Education:
Associate degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field; or equivalent technical training.
Experience:
Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in packaging machinery operation or maintenance preferred but not required.
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of packaging equipment components and operation (fillers, labelers, sealers).
Familiarity with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Willingness to learn machinery controls and automation systems.
Basic computer skills for data entry and maintenance tracking.
