We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Outage Supervisor – Mechanical Work to support the planning and execution of mechanical maintenance activities during plant outages and shutdowns. This role is ideal for individuals with foundational mechanical knowledge who are ready to grow into a leadership position by assisting with daily coordination, supervision of field crews, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Supporting the coordination and oversight of mechanical maintenance tasks during scheduled plant outages, focusing on static and rotating equipment, piping systems, and valves, under the guidance of senior supervisors.
Assist in supervising mechanical work crews during outages, ensuring tasks are executed safely and efficiently.
Support planning activities such as job walkdowns, tool and equipment preparation, and work permit coordination.
Monitor work progress and update shift reports in coordination with senior supervisors.
Ensure safe work practices are followed, including PPE usage, permit-to-work, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Help interpret basic mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and job scopes.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Report safety issues, delays, and material/tool shortages to supervising staff.
Participate in toolbox talks, pre-task briefings, and shift handovers.
Diploma or trade certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with exposure to shutdown or outage environments.
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, valves, piping, and pressure vessels.
Understanding of industrial safety protocols and maintenance best practices.
Mechanical aptitude – foundational understanding of industrial mechanical systems and tools.
Safety awareness – strong focus on worksite safety and hazard recognition.
Communication – ability to convey information clearly to team members and senior supervisors.
Team support – effective in assisting and coordinating with multiple work groups.
Time management – ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced outage setting.
Willingness to learn – eager to grow technical and leadership skills under experienced mentorship.
Basic Safety Training (OSHA 10 or local equivalent)
LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights (preferred but not mandatory)
First Aid / CPR (a plus)
Field-based work during outages, including long hours and possible weekend/holiday shifts.
Exposure to noise, heat, and industrial environments.
Must wear required PPE and follow all site safety regulations.
