Job Title: Mid-Level - Network Administrator
Job Summary
The Mid-Level Network Administrator is a pivotal role within our IT department, responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network systems. This position requires a proactive individual who can ensure optimal network performance and security while effectively resolving incidents. The Network Administrator will work closely with other IT staff and departments to implement best practices and enhance our network infrastructure, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Monitor and optimize network performance through regular assessments and adjustments to improve speed and reliability.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect organizational data and resources from unauthorized access.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, coordinating with vendors and other IT professionals as necessary to resolve problems efficiently.
- Perform regular network upgrades and apply patches to maintain system integrity and security.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accurate records and facilitate future troubleshooting.
- Provide support for cloud-based and hybrid network solutions, ensuring integration with existing systems.
- Train and mentor junior network administrators and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and services including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Experience with firewall configuration and a solid understanding of security best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues effectively.
- Understanding of cloud networking solutions such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation of network tasks.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience
