The Metering Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of metering systems. This role involves working independently on basic tasks while assisting senior technicians on more complex projects. The Junior Technician ensures the accuracy and functionality of metering devices and supports operational efficiency by adhering to quality and safety standards.
Perform routine calibration and testing of metering systems, including flow meters, pressure gauges, and energy meters.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of metering equipment to ensure accurate readings and system reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues in metering systems, escalating complex problems to senior technicians.
Document calibration and maintenance activities, ensuring accuracy in logs and reports.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new metering systems under supervision.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational protocols during all activities.
Collaborate with team members to improve metering system performance and operational efficiency.
Basic knowledge of metering systems and calibration techniques.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used for testing and troubleshooting metering devices.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Diploma or associate degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related technical field.
1-2 years of experience in metering systems or related fields, or equivalent exposure through internships or training programs.
Calibration tools ( flow meters, pressure calibrators, temperature simulators).
Diagnostic tools ( multimeters, loop testers).
Hand tools ( wrenches, screwdrivers) for installation and maintenance.
Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with team members and reporting to supervisors.
Commitment to following safety and quality standards in all work activities.
Willingness to travel to field sites for metering tasks as required.
