The Mid-Level Mechanical Technician is responsible for independently performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on food processing equipment such as mixers, slicers, conveyors, ovens, and packaging machines. This role ensures equipment reliability and safety while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a food manufacturing environment.
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance including lubrication, adjustments, inspections, and parts replacement on food processing machinery.
Diagnose mechanical faults, troubleshoot issues, and execute timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Replace and repair mechanical components such as belts, bearings, seals, gears, and motors.
Interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
Address breakdowns efficiently and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support equipment upgrades and modifications.
Adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO), safety procedures, and food safety (GMP/HACCP) standards during all maintenance activities.
Participate in safety audits and report potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
Ensure maintenance work meets regulatory and company standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair reports, and parts usage records in the CMMS.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and maintenance team members.
Support training of junior technicians and operators in basic mechanical maintenance.

Technical diploma or associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Mechanics, or related field preferred
3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in food processing or manufacturing environments
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment independently
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience on conveyors, mixers, slicers, motors, and related equipment
Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures
Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance documentation
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and teamwork
Willingness to mentor junior staff and share knowledge
