The Senior Mechanical Systems Supervisor – Turbines and Energy Equipment is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and performance of mechanical systems associated with gas/steam turbines, compressors, and auxiliary energy equipment. This leadership role requires deep technical expertise in turbine technologies, experience managing maintenance teams, and a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Supervision & Leadership:
Lead a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
Plan and supervise installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and repair activities for turbines and related mechanical systems.
Develop staff competencies through training and mentoring.
Turbine & Energy Equipment Oversight:
Ensure optimal operation and maintenance of gas and/or steam turbines, compressors, pumps, and heat exchangers.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide engineering solutions.
Coordinate scheduled overhauls, outages, and emergency repairs with minimal disruption to operations.
Asset Management & Reliability:
Implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Analyze failure data, root cause analysis (RCA), and develop corrective actions.
Optimize equipment performance and energy efficiency.
Project & Budget Management:
Oversee capital improvement projects related to mechanical energy systems.
Prepare and manage budgets for mechanical maintenance and upgrades.
Liaise with vendors, OEMs, and contractors for procurement and service coordination.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, API).
Maintain up-to-date documentation of maintenance activities, equipment records, and compliance reports.
Turbine Technology Expertise:
Deep understanding of the design, operation, and maintenance of gas and steam turbines.
Energy Equipment Reliability:
Focus on maximizing uptime and performance of auxiliary energy equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, compressors).
Team Leadership:
Hands-on supervision with the ability to lead and develop a multidisciplinary team.
Maintenance Strategy & Execution:
Strong experience in predictive/preventive maintenance, CMMS systems, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive process optimization and innovation in mechanical system performance and energy efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or senior technical role.
In-depth knowledge of turbine systems, rotating equipment, and thermal power generation processes.
Strong knowledge of CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
