Job Title: Mechanical Supply Chain Engineer 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Supply Chain Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the coordination and management of the supply chain for mechanical components, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of materials needed for manufacturing. You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics to ensure the smooth flow of materials, helping optimize processes and improve overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Support: Assist in managing the supply chain for mechanical components, ensuring materials are delivered on time and in the right quantities.
  • Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to track orders, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Inventory Management: Help monitor inventory levels and coordinate reordering to prevent shortages and delays in production.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and work with senior engineers to implement improvements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials.
  • Data Analysis: Track and analyze supply chain performance metrics, helping identify areas for cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate records for all materials, suppliers, and inventory management systems.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Supply Chain Efficiency: Focus on ensuring timely delivery of mechanical components while minimizing delays and reducing costs. Look for areas to streamline processes and optimize workflows.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ensure strong communication between suppliers, internal teams, and logistics to prevent any disruption in the supply chain.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels, tracking and managing stock to avoid shortages that could affect production schedules.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and working with senior engineers to improve overall supply chain operations.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Track key performance metrics (KPIs) for supply chain performance, and help identify trends or issues that need attention.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in supply chain management, engineering, or manufacturing (internships or projects are a plus).
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical systems and supply chain processes.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems, Excel, and other data analysis tools.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze problems and help implement solutions to improve supply chain operations.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with team members across various departments.

Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Any supply chain-related certification (e.g., APICS).
