Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Mechanical Supervisor to lead and manage complex mechanical operations in industrial and oil & gas environments. This senior role requires deep expertise in supervising large teams, overseeing high-risk and high-value mechanical works, and ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of piping systems, valves, rotating and static equipment, and shutdown or turnaround procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Field Oversight

  • Lead mechanical execution activities including heavy equipment installation, complex piping systems, valve management, and alignment of rotating machinery.

  • Serve as the on-site authority for all mechanical matters, resolving technical issues in collaboration with engineers and project managers.

  • Manage subcontractors and in-house technicians to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Leadership

  • Enforce advanced safety protocols, conduct job safety analyses (JSAs), and ensure full compliance with site HSE requirements.

  • Lead incident investigations and contribute to continuous improvement in safety performance.

  • Mentor junior staff and enforce a strong safety culture across the workforce.

Quality Assurance & Technical Governance

  • Oversee inspection and testing of systems including hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional testing.

  • Validate work against project specifications, codes (ASME, API, etc.), and quality assurance plans.

  • Sign off on mechanical completion documents and ensure system integrity prior to handover.

Workforce & Resource Management

  • Plan and manage workforce allocation for routine and critical activities, including shutdowns and turnarounds.

  • Coordinate with planning and procurement to ensure availability of materials, tools, and spares.

  • Provide input for method statements, lifting plans, and risk assessments.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain oversight of work schedules, progress tracking, and productivity metrics.

  • Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports for senior management.

  • Identify delays or constraints and implement mitigation plans.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Lead high-risk mechanical operations and large teams

  • Ensure compliance with international codes and client specifications

  • Act as technical lead for inspections and testing

  • Support planning, execution, and documentation of critical mechanical scopes

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

  • Additional certifications in mechanical integrity, pressure systems, or reliability engineering are preferred.

Experience:

  • 7–12+ years of mechanical supervisory experience in oil & gas, power, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.

  • Proven track record in managing mechanical works during shutdowns, turnarounds, or EPC projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of piping systems, valves (manual and control), rotating/static equipment, and maintenance standards.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings, and welding documentation.

  • Familiarity with CMMS software and mechanical completion systems.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong decision-making abilities under pressure.

  • Excellent team management, mentoring, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Capable of representing mechanical scope in client and internal meetings.

Preferred Certifications:

  • NEBOSH, OSHA 30, or equivalent HSE qualifications.

  • API (510, 570, 653), ASME certifications, or equivalent mechanical inspection credentials.
