The Senior Mechanical Supervisor – Valve is responsible for leading all mechanical maintenance, testing, repair, and inspection activities for industrial valves. This includes high-pressure safety valves, control valves, isolation valves, and actuated systems. The role involves managing teams, ensuring compliance with international standards, and coordinating complex shutdown or turnaround operations.
Lead the repair, servicing, testing, and calibration of a wide range of valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, control, safety relief).
Supervise workshop and field maintenance teams, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards (API, ASME, ISO).
Plan, coordinate, and execute valve maintenance during shutdowns, turnarounds, and scheduled outages.
Troubleshoot complex valve issues and recommend technical solutions or modifications.
Oversee hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional testing using certified test benches and instruments.
Ensure correct interpretation and use of P&IDs, valve datasheets, maintenance manuals, and technical drawings.
Liaise with engineering, procurement, and QA/QC teams for work scopes, spare parts, and inspection requirements.
Prepare detailed service reports, failure analysis documentation, and compliance records.
Train and mentor mid-level supervisors and technicians, ensuring workforce competency.
Monitor team performance and enforce strict HSE compliance.
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
8–12 years of hands-on experience in valve maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
Deep knowledge of valve types, actuators (electric/pneumatic/hydraulic), and repair methodologies.
Familiarity with CMMS systems and technical reporting.
Experience working with major OEMs or valve service contractors is a strong plus.
Certification in valve inspection/testing or knowledge of API standards (API 598, API 6D, API 527, etc.).
Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
Experience in executing large-scale shutdowns, brownfield upgrades, or offshore maintenance scopes.
