Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Supervisor – Valve (Mid-Level) is responsible for overseeing the servicing, inspection, repair, and installation of industrial valves across plant or field locations. This includes isolation valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly), safety valves, and control valves. The supervisor manages daily maintenance activities, coordinates teams, and ensures compliance with technical and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day valve maintenance activities in the workshop or on-site.

  • Oversee valve disassembly, inspection, lapping, seat replacement, testing, and reassembly.

  • Ensure all valves are maintained according to applicable industry codes (API, ASME, ISO) and client requirements.

  • Allocate tasks to technicians, monitor progress, and verify quality of work.

  • Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency valve repairs.

  • Prepare service reports, job cards, and maintenance logs accurately.

  • Maintain proper use and calibration of valve testing equipment (hydrostatic, pneumatic, safety valve test benches).

  • Coordinate with procurement for spare parts and ensure optimal inventory.

  • Support training and technical development of junior technicians.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field.

  • 4–7 years of hands-on experience in industrial valve maintenance and supervision.

  • Strong understanding of valve types, components, repair techniques, and failure diagnostics.

  • Experience in reading P&IDs, valve datasheets, and mechanical drawings.

  • Familiarity with CMMS software and documentation procedures.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Certification or training in valve repair and testing (e.g., API 510/570 familiarity).

  • Previous experience in oil & gas, power plants, or EPC project environments.

  • Strong team leadership, planning, and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize effectively.
