Job Summary:

The Mechanical Supervisor – Turbine (Mid-Level) is responsible for supervising the maintenance, overhaul, and installation of steam and gas turbine systems. The role includes managing field and workshop activities, coordinating technicians, ensuring work quality and safety, and minimizing equipment downtime through planned and corrective maintenance practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily maintenance activities for gas and steam turbines, including inspections, alignment, and component replacement.

  • Coordinate turbine overhauls, rotor removals, bearing inspections, and reassembly as per OEM and engineering standards.

  • Ensure all work is executed in compliance with safety regulations, technical specifications, and project deadlines.

  • Read and interpret turbine manuals, P&IDs, alignment drawings, and OEM documentation.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and escalate major failures or abnormalities to engineering.

  • Supervise auxiliary system servicing (lube oil, sealing systems, gearboxes, turning gear, etc.).

  • Coordinate with planning and materials departments for spare parts and maintenance tools.

  • Maintain detailed logs, inspection reports, and daily progress updates.

  • Lead and train junior technicians in safe turbine maintenance practices.

  • Ensure readiness for audits, shutdowns, or start-up schedules by adhering to procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 4–7 years of hands-on experience in steam/gas turbine maintenance and supervision.

  • Solid knowledge of turbine types, alignments, bearings, seals, and auxiliary systems.

  • Experience using alignment tools (laser or dial gauge), torque wrenches, and lifting equipment.

  • Familiarity with OEM turbine brands (e.g., GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Alstom) is a plus.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Exposure to turbine commissioning or major overhaul projects.

  • Knowledge of safety standards like LOTO, PTW, confined space, and hot work.

  • Proficiency in technical reporting, CMMS usage, and inspection coordination.

  • Strong leadership, time management, and team coordination skills.
