The Senior Mechanical Supervisor – Pumps & Motors is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the maintenance, repair, installation, and performance optimization of industrial pump and motor systems. This role involves supervising multi-skilled maintenance teams, managing shutdowns, and ensuring compliance with OEM standards, safety regulations, and operational targets.
Lead and supervise overhauls, diagnostics, and maintenance of various types of pumps (centrifugal, multistage, vertical, submersible) and LV/MV/HV motors.
Plan and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs across plant or field operations.
Review vibration analysis, performance reports, and implement solutions to enhance reliability.
Supervise alignment (laser/dial gauge), bearing replacement, seal systems, and coupling installations.
Ensure compliance with maintenance standards such as API 610, NEMA, ISO 9001, or client-specific requirements.
Coordinate manpower, tools, lifting plans, and materials for major shutdowns and turnarounds.
Liaise with vendors, OEMs, and third-party service providers for technical support and inspections.
Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, failure investigations, and performance reports via CMMS.
Monitor inventory levels of critical spares and recommend procurement plans.
Train and mentor mid- and junior-level technicians, conduct technical evaluations, and enforce HSE protocols.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
8–12 years of experience in pump and motor maintenance, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory leadership role.
Expertise in rotating equipment diagnostics, balancing, motor rewinding basics, and energy efficiency strategies.
Strong knowledge of international maintenance and safety standards (API, IEC, OSHA, etc.).
Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, P&IDs, datasheets, and OEM manuals.
Certification in rotating equipment or vibration analysis (CAT I/II), alignment, or predictive maintenance tools.
Experience in managing maintenance contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), or EPC scopes.
Leadership in handling shutdowns, audits, and asset reliability programs.
Familiarity with SAP/Maximo or other CMMS tools for maintenance planning and tracking.
