The Mechanical Supervisor – Fabrication (Mid-Level) is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily fabrication activities in the workshop or site, ensuring that all structural, piping, or equipment fabrication tasks are carried out safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. The role involves managing a team of welders, fitters, and fabricators while ensuring adherence to project drawings, welding codes, and safety procedures.
Supervise fabrication of structural steel, piping spools, tanks, skids, and mechanical assemblies.
Interpret fabrication drawings, welding maps, and material specifications to guide production.
Allocate work to technicians and monitor progress to meet project schedules.
Conduct visual checks for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and fit-up alignment.
Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections, welding tests, and NDT as per project requirements.
Ensure proper material handling, traceability, and utilization of consumables.
Enforce HSE compliance and promote safe work practices on the shop floor.
Liaise with planning, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure smooth job execution.
Maintain documentation including daily progress reports, timesheets, and production logs.
Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior staff and helpers.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication Technology.
4–7 years of experience in fabrication, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes such as welding, grinding, cutting, and rolling.
Familiarity with standards and codes such as ASME, API, AWS, and ISO.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication and isometric drawings.
Certification in welding inspection or fabrication supervision is an advantage.
Experience working in fabrication yards or EPC project workshops.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using measurement tools, hand tools, and fabrication machinery.
