The Mechanical Supervisor – Fabrication (Junior Level) is responsible for assisting in the supervision of day-to-day metal fabrication activities including cutting, welding, fitting, and assembling of structural and mechanical components. This role supports the senior supervisor in managing technicians, monitoring production quality, and ensuring safety and efficiency in workshop operations.
Assist in supervising fabrication activities such as plate cutting, structural assembly, and welding.
Monitor the workflow and ensure jobs are completed according to drawings and project specifications.
Support the inspection of materials and finished products for dimensional accuracy and quality.
Ensure that safety procedures are followed and report any unsafe conditions to the senior supervisor.
Coordinate the availability of tools, equipment, and raw materials on the shop floor.
Maintain basic documentation including daily reports, attendance records, and progress tracking.
Support equipment maintenance and cleanliness of the work area.
Communicate effectively with welders, fitters, and other shop floor personnel.
Assist in preparing parts for painting, packaging, or delivery.
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication Technology.
1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication, workshop supervision, or mechanical assembly (internship or apprenticeship accepted).
Basic understanding of welding, cutting, and mechanical fabrication techniques.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and shop sketches.
Familiarity with hand tools, measurement instruments, and basic workshop machinery.
Eagerness to learn and grow into a senior supervisory role.
Basic knowledge of safety practices (e.g., PPE, hot work safety).
Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Willingness to work in shifts or extended hours if required.
