We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Supervisor – Valve Section to assist with the maintenance and supervision of valve-related mechanical systems within a power plant or industrial facility. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational mechanical experience who are looking to transition into a leadership track. You will support day-to-day valve maintenance operations, assist in team coordination, and ensure compliance with safety protocols under the guidance of senior supervisors.
Assist in supervising routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and minor repair of industrial valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, pressure relief, etc.).
Support valve disassembly, cleaning, lapping, reassembly, and basic leak testing.
Monitor valve performance indicators and escalate abnormalities to senior staff.
Help assign and track daily maintenance tasks for technicians and fitters under senior direction.
Provide hands-on guidance to junior team members during basic maintenance procedures.
Maintain shift reports, work orders, and job checklists.
Follow and promote safety procedures including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), confined space entry, and use of PPE.
Participate in toolbox talks and hazard identification before job execution.
Ensure safe handling of valves during lifting, fitting, and pressure testing.
Record maintenance activities, valve condition reports, and basic failure observations.
Assist in updating the maintenance logbook and computerized maintenance systems (if applicable).
Communicate work progress and technical findings to the senior supervisor or engineer.
Engage in hands-on training for different valve types and actuator mechanisms.
Study technical manuals and plant procedures related to valve maintenance and safety.
Take initiative in learning troubleshooting methods and test procedures.
Support valve inspection and mechanical maintenance
Assist in task coordination and documentation
Follow safety procedures during valve servicing
Develop technical and supervisory skills
Education:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Maintenance, or a related technical field
Experience:
1–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in power plants, utilities, or process industries
Basic exposure to valve systems is preferred
Skills:
Basic understanding of valve construction and maintenance practices
Ability to read technical manuals, P&IDs, and maintenance checklists
Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Safety-conscious mindset and willingness to learn
