Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor – Valve Maintenance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Supervisor to oversee valve maintenance operations across multiple water treatment sites. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic oversight to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of valve systems critical to water treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage valve maintenance teams, including supervisors, technicians, and contractors, across multiple facilities.

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and best practices for valve systems.

  • Mentor and coach supervisors and team members, fostering skill development and safety awareness.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for valves, actuators, and associated mechanical equipment.

  • Coordinate complex valve repairs, replacements, and emergency response activities.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and reliability teams to optimize valve asset performance.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, including OSHA standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and confined space entry procedures.

  • Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.

  • Lead safety training initiatives and promote a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Asset Management & Reporting

  • Monitor valve asset condition and performance using CMMS and other asset management tools.

  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, improve reliability, and recommend capital improvements.

  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on valve maintenance status, challenges, and achievements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for valve maintenance matters across the organization.

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors during capital projects involving valve systems.

  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for valve maintenance and asset renewal programs.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 8+ years in valve maintenance or mechanical systems with at least 4 years in a supervisory or senior leadership role

  • Extensive experience in water treatment or similar industrial environments

Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of valve technologies, hydraulic systems, and mechanical maintenance

  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Maximo, Cityworks) and asset management software

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple teams and complex projects simultaneously
