We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Supervisor – Turbine Section to lead complex maintenance and overhaul operations on gas and steam turbines in critical industrial environments such as power plants, refineries, or petrochemical facilities. This senior-level role involves strategic planning of outages, execution oversight, technical leadership, safety enforcement, and mentoring of junior supervisors and technicians. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, field leadership, and a proven record of ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality turbine maintenance operations.
Lead all phases of major turbine outages, including planning, execution, quality control, and handover.
Oversee inspection, repair, and reassembly of turbine components such as rotors, diaphragms, blades, bearings, seals, and valves.
Evaluate equipment condition and coordinate with engineers on repair strategies and technical deviations.
Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
Allocate tasks, set performance standards, and ensure alignment with schedule, quality, and cost targets.
Serve as the technical escalation point for complex field issues.
Enforce full compliance with all safety procedures, including permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and risk assessments.
Lead pre-job safety briefings and actively participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Coordinate with operations, maintenance planning, QA/QC, engineering, and OEM representatives to ensure seamless execution.
Provide regular updates to plant leadership and contribute to long-term maintenance planning.
Approve and verify technical reports, as-found and as-left documentation, and close-out packages.
Maintain records aligned with audit requirements and regulatory standards.
Lead and manage turbine overhaul and maintenance programs
Mentor technical teams and supervise multiple work fronts
Ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met
Collaborate with OEMs and internal engineering teams on technical solutions
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
OEM certifications or advanced turbine maintenance training highly desirable
8–15 years of relevant experience, with significant exposure to gas and/or steam turbine maintenance
Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory capacity leading major outages or turnarounds
Hands-on experience with OEM turbines (GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Alstom, etc.)
Expert-level mechanical knowledge of turbine systems, including balancing, alignment, and critical clearances
Proven leadership, decision-making, and project execution skills
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team-building abilities
Proficient in technical documentation, reports, and Microsoft Office/CMMS systems
NEBOSH/OSHA or equivalent HSE certification
Lifting & rigging, confined space, and turbine-specific technical training
PMP or similar project management certification is an advantage
