The Senior Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of mechanical maintenance within a power plant. This includes ensuring reliability and availability of mechanical assets, managing shutdowns and overhauls, optimizing preventive maintenance strategies, and leading a team of supervisors and technicians. The role demands advanced technical knowledge, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to asset health and performance.
Maintenance Oversight & Execution
Plan, supervise, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment (turbines, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, piping).
Ensure high-quality maintenance in compliance with OEM guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a team of mechanical supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
Monitor work performance, provide training, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Asset Reliability & Optimization
Monitor equipment health and performance using KPIs, vibration analysis, thermography, and other condition monitoring tools.
Support root cause analysis and implement reliability improvements.
Turnaround & Outage Management
Plan and manage major equipment shutdowns, overhauls, and capital maintenance projects.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations for effective execution.
Budgeting & Resource Management
Assist in developing maintenance budgets, resource allocation, and spare parts planning.
Optimize labor and material usage to reduce downtime and costs.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Enforce safety protocols, risk assessments, LOTO, and permit-to-work systems.
Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO, local codes).
Technical Documentation & Reporting
Review and approve maintenance documentation, work orders, and performance reports in CMMS.
Provide technical input to maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience: 8–12+ years in power plant mechanical maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
Certifications (Preferred):
Maintenance Management (RCM, TPM)
Safety (NEBOSH, OSHA)
CMMS (SAP, Maximo) proficiency
In-depth technical knowledge of turbines, rotating equipment, and boiler systems
Strong leadership, coordination, and people management skills
Proficiency in maintenance planning tools and data analysis
Excellent understanding of safety protocols and HSE regulations
Strong communication, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
Power plant operational environment; requires field supervision and office planning
Shift work or call-ins may be required for critical breakdowns or project executions
PPE usage and compliance with all plant safety procedures mandatory
